A power dialer calls a list of leads one after another, so agents spend less time finding the next lead. The SalesExec power dialer calls one lead at a time for each agent. It is not a predictive dialer, and it does not dial several lines per agent. For predictive dialing, SalesExec can send leads to a Five9 list through its Five9 integration.
How Do Power, Predictive, and Preview Dialers Differ?
| Power dialing | Predictive dialing | Click-to-dial (preview-style calling) |
How calls are placed | One lead at a time per agent, in list order | Several lines per agent | The agent clicks a lead's phone number to call |
Agent on the line | Yes, only one call is placed at a time per agent | Depends on the predictive dialer | Yes |
In SalesExec | Built in | Through the Five9 integration | Built in |
Click-to-dial is a better fit when an agent needs to research each lead before calling, such as for complex or high-value deals. See Using Click to Dial and Power Dial.
What Should a Call Center Look for in a Power Dialer?
One call per agent: The agent is on the line when the lead answers.
Queue order: Leads are called in a set sort order, which helps speed-to-lead. In SalesExec, leads added later go to the bottom of the list (first in, first out).
Dispositions that move to the next lead: In SalesExec, choosing an action in the Sales Workflow moves the agent to the next lead, and clicking Power Dial skips a lead.
Progress tracking: The SalesExec toolbar shows the agent's place in the list, for example Power Dial (3 of 25).
Local numbers: Assign outbound numbers to states so calls can come from a number that matches the lead's area or state. See Configure a Number for Outbound Dialing.
Calls saved on the lead record: In SalesExec, calls, actions, notes, and recordings are saved on the lead record, so managers can see results in reports. See SalesExec Dialer Call Statistics.
Clear pricing: In SalesExec, calling is billed separately from the software: $0.025 per minute pay-as-you-go, or the Unlimited Dialing Add-On at $155 per active user per month. See How much does SalesExec and SalesExec Dialer Cost?.
What Compliance Settings Should You Check?
Do Not Contact List: Leads flagged Do Not Phone are not called from the SalesExec Power Dial screen. See How SalesExec Checks Do Not Contact (DNC) Compliance for Calls, SMS, and Email.
State calling hours: In the distribution strategy, set the calling hours your business approves for each state, and use Edit Holiday Calling Restrictions to block holidays by state. See State Calling Hours.
Call recording: In RingResponse Configuration, turn on Enable Outbound Call Recordings only if your business records calls.
Where Does the SalesExec Power Dialer Fit?
The power dialer is part of SalesExec, not a separate product. Agents select leads on the Lead Manager screen and click Call, and SalesExec loads them into the Pull screen as a Power Dial list. Calls run through RingResponse, SalesExec's built-in calling service, or through a supported phone integration such as Five9, Nextiva, Cisco WebDialer, or SIP.
Power dialing is a good fit when agents call internet leads all day, when you need to work through a queue fast, when you want a person on every call, and when you want one calling screen. For setup steps, see SalesExec Power Dialer: What It Is, How It Works, and How to Set It Up.
