Overview
The SalesExec power dialer lets a call center agent call a list of leads one after another. The agent starts a power dial from the Lead Manager screen, and SalesExec loads those leads into the Pull screen to call. SalesExec dials one lead at a time and moves to the next lead after the agent records an action (disposition) or clicks Power Dial. Calls run through RingResponse, SalesExec's built-in calling service, or through a supported phone integration.
This article explains what power dialing is in SalesExec, how it works, how to set it up, and when a call center should use it. For step-by-step use of the dialing buttons, see Using Click to Dial and Power Dial.
What is power dialing in SalesExec?
Power dialing is a way to call many leads in a row with less manual work. Instead of finding each lead and clicking its phone number, the agent starts a Power Dial list and SalesExec places the calls in order.
SalesExec supports two ways to call leads:
Click-to-dial: The agent calls one lead by clicking its phone number or using the phone keypad in the bottom bar.
Power dial: The agent works a list of leads. SalesExec dials each lead in turn and loads the next lead when the agent is done.
The SalesExec power dialer calls one lead at a time for each agent. It is not a predictive dialer, and it does not dial several lines per agent.
How does the SalesExec power dialer work?
Start from the Lead Manager: The agent selects leads on the Lead Manager screen and clicks Call. SalesExec loads the selected leads into the Pull screen as a Power Dial list.
Dial in order: SalesExec dials the first lead using your phone setup. The order follows your sort order. Leads added later go to the bottom of the list (first in, first out).
Record the outcome: The agent talks to the lead, leaves a voicemail, or notes a no-answer, then selects an action in the Sales Workflow. Choosing an action moves the agent to the next lead.
Skip if needed: Clicking Power Dial moves to the next lead without recording an action.
Track progress: The toolbar shows the agent's place in the list, for example Power Dial (3 of 25).
Stop or reset: Clear Power Dial empties the list. If the agent leaves the screen, SalesExec remembers their place in the list.
Leads flagged Do Not Phone on the Do Not Contact List are not called from the Power Dial screen. For details, see How SalesExec Checks Do Not Contact (DNC) Compliance for Calls, SMS, and Email.
How do you set up the power dialer?
Complete these steps once as an administrator. Then each agent completes their own phone setup.
Turn on outbound calling: Go to More > Settings > RingResponse Configuration and turn on RingResponse Outbound. Turn on Enable Outbound Call Recordings only if your business records calls.
Choose billable options: In the same screen, under Billable Options, turn on the add-ons you need, such as Voicemail Drops, Call Recordings, Warm Transfer, or Caller ID Lookup. These options are billed by usage. See Enable and Disable SalesExec Dialer Features.
Add phone numbers: Go to More > Settings > Phone Numbers and buy a local or toll-free number. See How to Purchase a Local or Toll-Free Phone Number.
Allow outbound calls on a number: Configure at least one number to allow outbound calls and set one number as the default for outbound calls. You can assign numbers to states for local presence. See Configure a Number for Outbound Dialing.
Set up the Pull queues: Go to More > Settings > Lead Distribution and create or edit a Pull strategy. Set the criteria (for example, lead status, maximum lead age, and DoNotPhone Equals False), the sort order, and the agents who can pull from it. See How to Configure "Pull" Lead Distribution.
Set calling restrictions: In the distribution strategy, set the calling hours your business approves for each state. Use Edit Holiday Calling Restrictions to block holidays by state. See State Calling Hours.
Set up actions: Go to More > Settings > Sales Workflow and make sure each status has the actions agents need, such as no-answer, left voicemail, and appointment set. See Configure Actions in a Sales Workflow.
Give users access: Go to More > Settings > Users and Roles and Permissions and make sure agents can use the dialer.
Agent phone setup: Each agent opens More > My Account, enters a valid Primary Phone, and saves. Agents who call through the browser must allow microphone access and allow pop-ups. See SalesExec Dialer User Setup.
When should a call center use the power dialer?
Power dialing is a good fit when:
Agents call internet leads all day: Agents spend less time finding the next lead and more time talking.
You need to work through a queue fast: New leads and follow-up leads can be called in a set order, which helps speed-to-lead.
You want a person on every call: The agent is on the line when the lead answers, because only one call is placed at a time per agent.
You want one calling screen: Leads selected in the Lead Manager load into the Pull screen, so agents work the whole list in one place.
Click-to-dial is a better fit when an agent needs to research each lead before calling, such as for complex or high-value deals.
If your center needs predictive or multi-line dialing, SalesExec has a Five9 integration. Contact ClickPoint Support to confirm it fits your setup.
How much does the SalesExec power dialer cost?
Calling is billed separately from the SalesExec software subscription. As listed on the SalesExec pricing page:
Item | Price |
SalesExec Standard | $55 per user per month |
SalesExec Advanced | $72 per user per month |
Pay-as-you-go calling | $0.025 per minute |
Unlimited Dialing Add-On | $155 per active user per month |
Local phone number | $2 per number per month |
Toll-free phone number | $3 per month |
Call recording, warm transfer, caller ID name lookup, answering machine detection, and toll-free calling have separate usage charges. See How much does SalesExec and SalesExec Dialer Cost?
How does the power dialer fit into SalesExec?
The power dialer is part of SalesExec, not a separate product. Calls, actions, notes, and recordings are saved on the lead record, so managers can see results in SalesExec reports. To learn how lead intake, routing, and follow-up connect, see How SalesExec Lead Management Works and the SalesExec power dialer product page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the SalesExec power dialer a predictive dialer?
No. SalesExec dials one lead at a time for each agent. The next call starts after the agent records an action or clicks Power Dial. For predictive dialing, SalesExec can send leads to a Five9 list through the Five9 integration.
Can agents skip a lead?
Yes. Clicking Power Dial moves to the next lead without recording an action.
Does the power dialer call leads on the Do Not Contact List?
No. Leads flagged Do Not Phone are not called from the Power Dial screen. Keep your Do Not Contact List up to date.
Can I use local numbers when power dialing?
Yes. Assign outbound numbers to states, and SalesExec can call from a number that matches the lead's area or state. If no match is found, it uses your default outbound number.
Do I need a separate phone system?
No. You can call through RingResponse in SalesExec. SalesExec also supports phone integrations such as Five9, Nextiva, Cisco WebDialer, and SIP.
